Who can now walk past Tiffany & Co without thinking of Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and who has bought a ‘Return to Tiffany’ heart because of the film?
If you haven’t had the pleasure, now don’t miss the rare opportunity to view this classic on the big screen as it was intended back in 1961.
The Australian Cinémathèque is the only Australian art gallery with purpose-built facilities dedicated to film and the moving image and features many prints sourced from film archives around the world and screened in one of Australia’s last 35mm film venues.
Blake Edwards’ classic Breakfast at Tiffany’s screens this Sunday 3 July 11am as part of our ‘In Character’ cinema program, then finally on Sunday 24 July at 11am.

Audrey Hepburn stars as Holly Golightly, a young woman living in New York. She finds herself entwined in a romance with a young author who is involved with a wealthy dowager. Hepburn’s portrayal of the naïve, eccentric café society girl is generally considered to be the actress’s most memorable and identifiable role.
One of the most beloved romantic comedies of cinema, Breakfast at Tiffany’s turned Audrey Hepburn into a style icon for generations and won a pair of Oscars for its score and for Henry Mancini and Johnny Mercer’s beautiful song ‘Moon River’.
